Koleksi Lengkap Karya Agatha Christie

Entah sejak kapan aku mulai suka membaca novel karangan Agatha Christie ini. Mungkin sejak novel Agatha yang sering dipinjam sepupuku. Atau malah setelahnya. Setelah beberapa novelnya aku baca bersama kawan-kawan SMA-ku. Kalau aku ingat-ingat, mungkin saja novel berjudul ‘One, Two, Buckle My Shoe’ atau yang berjudul ‘Cat among the Pigeons’ yang pertama kali aku baca. Entahlah mana yang duluan. Aku sudah agak lupa. Sudah lama sekali. Dari ke 39 judul yang telah aku baca, yang paling ku senangi adalah ‘The Murder of Roger Ackroyd’ dan ‘The Big Four’. Sangat mengesankan dan tidak disangka-sangka.

Aku sangat suka pada gaya bahasa dan kejutan-kejuatan yang disampaikan oleh penulis. Tidak terduga. Aku sendiri memang suka dengan cerita detektif dan cerita misterius yang tentunya masuk akal. Aku berupaya menerka siapa pelakunya tapi selalu saja gagal. Benar-benar menakjubkan. Alur cerita dan penggambarannya yang sangat menarik. Bahkan hingga lima halaman akhir dari novel tersebut aku masih tidak tahu ke arah mana penyelesaiannya. Siapa pelakunya? Benar-benar hingga halaman akhir barulah kita akan mengetahuinya.

Dan harus ku akui bahwa aku merasa terpengaruh dengan caranya dalam menjelaskan ataupun menarasikan sesuatu. Aku sendiri punya target untuk membaca koleksi lengkap karangan Agatha Christie ini.
